NMF Scholarships: An Updated Compilation

Honorable mention has nothing to do with NMF/NMSF [National Merit Finalist / National Merit Semifinalist, no schools that I know of give merit money for Commended] status. It’s just a list of schools that don’t offer at least full tuition but still a decent amount worth mentioning.

Her list is divided into two sections … NMF Full Tuition …the other is NMF Honorable Mention - trying to understand what the difference is … thanks.

(I’m the OP, btw.)

NMF Full Tuition = schools that offer full tuition (whether guaranteed or competitive scholarships) to NMFs. Some of these schools also offer awards to NMSFs; I have noted this where applicable.
NMF Honorable Mention = schools that offer LESS than full tuition to NMFs. The details of these awards are also noted.

Got it … thanks.

florida a&m gives a full ride to NMF/NAF

Does Saint Louis University offer a scholarship for National Merit Finalists?

^ I’m not sure. Why don’t you research it on their website? Search for “National Merit.”

West Virginia U (NMF ~full tuition guaranteed)

what is NFM…Please message me ok…what does it mean…

NMF = National Merit Finalist. I’m certainly not going to message you personally with such a simple definition.

Full updated list, with addition of Truman State (a public LAC in Missouri).

o Full ride is defined as minimum tuition/room/board.
o U=University, C=College

Thank you for doing this! Very very useful!

^ You are very welcome!

Bumping this up…

thanks K, for compiling this list. I bookmarked it before, and now it’s very useful.
and thanks to other contributors as well.

What does “full tuition competitive” and “full ride competitive” mean? That you might get the money if you’re NMF, but it’s not guaranteed?

Right. It means that there is competition for the scholarship – you might have to submit a supplemental application, an essay, participate in on-campus interviews, etc. Just because you are NMF does not guarantee that you will get that scholarship, but you may have to be NMF to be considered.

What Zetesis said. :)

Texas A & M offered full tuition and travel money too. I am not positive it was a NMS solicitation, but I thought it was. I did not see a & M on the list.
