Thats a pretty good list, I must say. What about their average SSAT scores?

Their average ssat score is a well guarded secret. (I'm not being sarcastic.) I never found the info. and was curious.

Haha some schools are like that. Would it be a bad idea to ask them that during my interview? I might visit their in two weeks.

ughh lucky you.
i got in and i cant go :(
gahhh.

Would asking them what their average SSAT scores make me sound a little I don't know, possibly arrogant?

They were, if I remember correctly, one of the few schools who would not tell during the visit they made to my son's Jr. Prep to to introduce NMH. THe kids asked pretty much every school. Most would tell and say how it's not really that important, blah blah blah. NMH simply skippied saying the score and went straight to the "it's not that important, we look at the whole application" part.
Your SSAT is fine for them MDog.

I know, its just everyone wants to know what those scores are, and I would be able to find out during my visit.

Warriorboy is right. It appears to be a well guarded secret at NMH. You could ask, but I bet they would not tell you.

check it out at
Northfield Mount Hermon School - Boarding School Profile

You have to be careful with those sites. Even though it is listed as recently updated, much of the data is old. They have changed a few things, like to Director of Admissions name. The enrollment, acceptance rate, percent boarding/day, minorities, etc. are all old data (2005).

Yeah, those stats are definitely old. I talked to someone who was a consultant for boarding schools and they told me that all those stats are outdated.

yes....I see the average SAT, I don't see the average SSAT listed unless I missed it.

Yeah, I already checked. I guess I'll just have try and find out during the tour.

I've been away for two weeks and am bursting with NMH pride! I've had no one to share it with in rural Cambodia. 47 days until NMH!!!

Oh man, Cambodia, thats awesome! i think that I'm going to make a count down to the first day :)

My son can't wait for school to start. I can't believe it's only 47 days.... I still have a lot of shopping. I can't remember when books are bought. Can we buy them in advance?

I don't think so; my son wasn't told until classes started what books he needed

Does anyone know if most students at BS go to a local Staples or another store at the beginning of the school year to buy their binders, paper, etc? Do most schools send out info over the summer regarding school supplies?

NMH did not send info regarding supplies. We just bought what we thought he would need and did not go nuts. Just basics...binders, lined paper, dividers, folders. He ended up using these for each class. It was not like middle school where the teachers are particular about specific binder sizes and things like that. If you wait to shop at the campus bookstore, you will end up paying a lot more for supplies.
