I am a naturalized US citizen but I did not change my status at the Social Security office before I submitted the FAFSA, so my SAR had the clause about a SSN mismatch.

One of my schools to which I applied RD had citizenship verification flagged on their online FA tracking. I submitted over the necessary info two times in over a month but it wasn't changed. It was really frustrating and I called the financial aid office several times and ultimately I found out I was rejected. =(
The school I was accepted to EA just contacted me about citizenship verification, so they can give me the official financial aid report.

I have several more decisions waiting (HPS) and I have not been contacted about citizenship verification from any of these schools. Does this mean that I am probably rejected?

I think the admissions office could've told the financial aid office "hey we are rejecting this kid so don't waste time computing his aid." This was previously suggested here: [url=]http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/163424-those-accepted-financial-aid-students.html

Has anyone else had similar experiences where ONLY the schools you were ultimately accepted at contacted you beforehand about financial aid verification, and the schools you were ultimately rejected at never contacted you at all about it?
