"No Credit" in 1 credit orientation class, important?

As a transfer student I am forced to complete a one-credit orientation class. I missed one class and the 'instructor' told me he would give me a grade of "No Credit." I'm a philosophy/classics student, and graduate school really appeals to me. Will this "No Credit" grade on my transcript hurt me in any way when the time comes, as this instructor is suggesting? Maybe he was just being a jerk? (seems likely)

Since I am a recent transfer I only have my community college grades, so all things considered, is this something I need to worry about when it comes time to consider grad schools?
