UPenn has a small cut-out application that asks for some financial information for a fee-waiver. Does filling out this form automatically waive your fee or must it first be reviewed? If Penn decides that I can afford to pay the application fee, then do they view my application as incomplete and reject me? Or do they notify me and have me send a check?

i would assume they notify you

They will either notify you or mail you asking for your fee.

Probably unless there's something egregiously wrong (like your income is $200k) they'll accept it. I don't see multibilliondollar-endowed colleges fretting over something like that.

pyroclastic,

You'd be amazed by what multi-billion dollar endowed universities will fret over.

They do notify you by email that the waiver has been rejected and fees is pending ....
the verifiaction is done by the finaid documents sent

And its not abt fretting for money but rather what is right and what is wrong..

Application fees is only waived if u cant afford or will have difficulty paying it .. not if u wanna save money to buy something else

If they don't accept the waiver, then your app will be seen as incomplete and you will be asked to submit the fee. Your will be treated like any other applicant who sent in an app without paying--that all the pieces are not there. "Rejection" is a formal action taken on a complete application. They won't reject you, although they may eventually cancel your app as "never completed."
