So I have a reach (vanderbilt) and a safety (u of alabama) and that's about it. Any suggestions to look at?

GPA: 3.81 W, should be 3.95 when I get this semester's grades
ACT: 33
ECs: Nothing special, average

Undecided major

You haven’t really given much to work with, but I am inclined to say schools such as College of William and Mary, Belmont University, University of Richmond, Sewanee, Wake Forest. Just a few thoughts…

What are your financial constraints?

Sorry I gave so little to work with, I don’t know what else to say.

So financially… The reason my safety is Alabama is because of the OOS Presidential Scholarship that I’d be guaranteed (full tuition all 4 years). Unless Vandy is as generous as I’ve heard with aid, I won’t be going there if I get accepted. I definitely would consider going to a school that I would be considered “above average” at, in exchange for big scholarship $.

What state are you in?

More options if you have good stats: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html

Thanks for the link

and I’m from Chicago

University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign?

Vandy is generous to those who qualify for generous aid. If you won’t qualify for generous aid, you won’t get generous aid. My sister’s son goes there and they don’t get ANY aid. However, those who do qualify, do get aid of varying amounts…based on need.

Yes…Bama will give you full tuition if you have the required stats…which you do…and you apply before Dec 1st and fill out the scholarship app. The apps go live in July, they’re very easy to fill out online, so I suggest doing that to have the acceptance and scholarship offer in your back pocket.

I know that you don’t know what you want to major in…but do you have any idea of what career path interests you?

How much scholarship money do you need? for instance…with a full tuition scholarship, your costs will be about $10k per year for room, board, books (plus or minus a bit depending on dorm/meal choices).

How much will your parents pay?

The most important question on the list. Have you run FAFSA forecaster for your EFC yet?
