I’m currently not taking a math class junior year. I’ve taken Algebra 2 as a summer class before freshman year, Precalculus my freshman year, and Calculus AB my sophomore year. Calculus BC, AP Stats, and AP Comp Sci are full at my school. Considering I already have 3 years worth of math, would it hurt me to not have a math class junior year but instead take like AP Statistics my senior year? For my current schedule I’m taking Physiology, Drama (need visual/performing arts for a-g requirement), AP Psychology, US History, AP Lang/Comp, and a hospitality class that I’m required by the school to take.
To be honest i don’t think it would hurt you too much since you have so many math classes under your belt, but it definitely would look really good if you did have a math class junior year.
This isn’t your fault and colleges won’t penalize you for it. It would be nice if you could take a math class through dual enrollment at a local college, but this isn’t necessary.
Since it’s beyond your control for the most part, it’s okay. You could take a math class online if you wanted.
