No Math or Econ minor?

I'm coming to Cornell as a transfer student next fall. However, I've been looking into the degree program lately.

Why doesn't Cornell offer Math or Economics minors? It is incomprehensible to me. These are such basic, universal minors. Nearly every school in America has them. What harm would be done by the administration offering them as minors?

Well, the Cornell Econ major is pretty small anyway – it only requires 8 courses! I’m not sure why there isn’t a Math minor.

Good point about the Econ minor. On second thought, it probably wouldn’t make much sense.

Ugh. I wish they let non-CAS people double major with Econ.

If you’re in Engineering, you should check out the Engineering/Economics dual-degree program. It takes five years to complete but is quite popular/useful.
