I am really sick of it. I like posting, but it slows me down a lot to have to wait between posting. its really a nuisance. id appreciate it if the moderators would get rid of this…or even shorten the time length to 30 seconds. that would make me pretty happy. i know its used to stop spammers and people getting their post count too high all at once, but id really appreciate this time frame being shortened or alleviated. thanks.
Let’s take a vote. It’d be great if we could change it. So that’s 2 votes so far.
Make that three votes.

AUGH- thwarted by the 60 second rule again! How ironic.
Five
six…maybe 30 seconds would work, or even 45.

Hey… I think this is a nice move… now the message also says how many seconds you’d have to wait before trying again.
it does???
it doesnt!!!
well… for the 30 second searching thing it did say how long before you can try again it did so i extrapolated
yeah hopefully the mods see this!
hey, it does!!!

if the 60 second rule is for bandwidth concerns, i don’t really get it? regular posters are a valuable asset, why discourage them?
there worried about spammers, but perhaps halving the time to 30 seconds, or removing the time delay after a certain amount of posts would work.
Spam control is an issue, but also the question of quality posts. A discussion forum is distinct from a chat room in that one hopes that every post will contain some useful information. “I agree!” or “No way.” don’t add a lot to the discussion.
I have bumped into the 60 second rule a few times myself, but not often. If you are finding that it’s a frequent problem, take a look at the preceding posts and see if they are of reasonable quality and show some level of thought and reflection.
One term that comes up when forum professionals meet is “signal to noise ratio”. It’s an old audio term, but in forum parlance it means quality content vs. chit-chat. We’ve got a lot of good information here, but quite a bit of noise. Think more signal, less noise.
well then, that would mean that there would be no need for the word association or other “games” that people play is chit chat.
Heck, most high schoolers do chat on these threads! I think the 60 second should be gone, maybe take it away when someone gets to the senior member level. by then they have spent a significant amount of time posting and arent likely to spam
oh so the rules are OK so long as they don’t apply to you
