I didn't see a thread like this - but figure that there have to be others (parents, students, grandparents, family pets, etc.) who won't hear back from schools until Spring. We're seemingly in this group with schools reporting regular decision likely in March.

Anyone else? If yes, when do you expect to hear back? How do you feel about waiting?

^^^We had to wait until spring for D1. I can’t say I haven’t appreciated being pretty much done already with D2’s process, but it really wasn’t all that bad waiting for RD four years ago.

Once all the dust settles from the EDs and EAs (and it will-people can only talk about this for so long), life will be filled with its usual distractions. Time will pass much quicker than you realize. This is the last winter/spring we will have with our seniors as “children.” They may come home for breaks and summers, but it will never be the same again. Once they get their college decisions, they begin to mentally make the separation; enjoy the fact that you have four extra months before they do that! :)

My son did not apply ED, EA, or to any rolling admission school. Being from Pittsburgh, nearly everyone he knew applied to Pitt, a rolling admission school, as a safety. He was sure that he was the only one in his class that did not have even one acceptance by winter break. He finally got his first acceptance in the third week of March. What a relief!

S got into his safety and in-state LACs fall of sr. yr. He got into his biggest reach SCEA in Dec. Had to wait until April 1 for his #1 choice, and they only sent results snail mail. (5 yrs ago) We thought it was a very looong wait.

We are still waiting for spring, in order to compare financial aid packages. DS started applying in August and acceptances have been coming in since September.

Are there any rolling schools in the mix that would make her a slam dunk for admissions? There is a good thread that Tokenadult started that is “bookmarked” in the College Search and Selection forum - Don’t Forget to Apply to a Safety School. Even at this late date I’d guess places like PSU and U of Iowa would accept applications.
