I phoned to arrange an overnight for my senior and was told that the practice was suspended for at least a few weeks while lawyers looked over something. Does anyone know why they aren't allowing high school seniors to stay overnight?

Hmmm… when I overnighted back in the day, I didn’t sign anything waiver-ish, which my parents thought was pretty suspicious. So my guess would be that it might have something to do with that.

As far as anything happening to students, I know a couple of years ago some prospies had way too much to drink and were sent to the hospital (and had a revoked admissions offer to boot). Perhaps they’re trying to prevent that from happening again and having the parents sue the school for negligence?

I found the waiver on the admissions site today for the first time (I’d been waiting for it for several weeks). Since I plan to visit in early October, should I give the admissions office a call to make sure they’re taking overnight visitors in case of a suspension of some sort before I book my flight?

^^ That seems wise, my friend.

Definitely call. The website says to let them know at least 3 weeks ahead of time, which was why I called them. Then they told me they weren’t doing any overnights and I should call back in a few weeks to see if they were reinstating them.
