No SATII Scores

I have applied to NU RD, and I submitted the application about two weeks ago. It turns out when I looked at the NU website that the recommend three SATII tests. However, last year, I asked my guidance counselor if they would be necessary for the schools I was applying to, and said no. (I guess that's true. None of my schools require them.) How much can not having the SATII scores hurt my application? I only found out about their recommendation when it was too late! I had no idea because it didn't mention anything about that on the common app website; only on the NU admissions website.

Man, I'm so frustrated. I know that I am a very on-the-bubble applicant, and I'm scared crazy that this can ruin it.

I really do not think it'll hurt you . a couple people from my school didnt have them and got in, i also didn't submit my SAT scores at all. just ACT.

Yeah. Just before I sent my application I got my new ACT scores; they were much better than the SAT, so I only sent the ACT. In fact, I deleted the SAT scores from my application. Not a trace! LOL.

Lol.. I dont think it should be a problem... :)

It all depends on what you're going into. It probably won't hurt you, I'd assume.

I would think that the SAT II tests wouldn't hurt if absent but would help a lot if present.

I applied to Weinberg and mentioned in my essays that I'm interested in either Biology, Political Science, or both, in case that changes anything.

I agree with jonthelin - it wouldn't hurt you if you didn't take the subject tests, but they could help if you had taken them. Off the top of my head, I think there's only one field of study in which the tests are specifically required.

i've heard of people getting in without them. time for your school to get a new guidance counselor though

Well, it really wasn't her fault I decided to apply; I had no intentions to at first. Because I wasn't applying to any Ivy League schools, it appeared at first I didn't need them. I think she's the best! Now the guidance counselor my school has for the learning disabled students is another story...........

I am sending in SAT IIs in the two subjects I'm considering studying at Weinberg... I scored mid-700s on both, which is so-so. I'd rather not have sent them at all. You should be just fine! :-)

My dean calls me Alison. Which is close to my name, but is not, and never will be, my name. And she asked after my sister. Don't have one.

mid 700s is great in my opinion

Relax. My daughter was admitted ED without SAT 2s, she sent ACT only.

I thought my scores were good, too, until I came to CC and got shot down.
