Noarmed forces for ritalin users?

I just came across a few things that shocked and upset me, and I have a few questions about this:
According to http://www.resultsproject.net/schoolsay.html and other pages.....

"if your child takes Ritalin past the age of 12, according to the 1999 Military Recruitment Manual, that child may not join the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines untill after a doctor has signed a paper stating that the person has been off Ritalin for four years. Because the child is a class 2 drug user."

".....if they were aware that if your child uses Ritalin, the State or Federal Government could not hire him or her if the job involves state secrets or national security, because your child is a class 2 drug user. (They can run for office, but they can’t be hired.)"

Now both of these upset me alot, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this. Also, by ritalin do they mean any ADHD drug? Would this mean that if, say, i wanted to become president, governor, or something like this I wouldn't be able to?

I was never told of either of these, and neither were either of my parents. If anyone has any additional information regarding these, it would be great.(I couldn't find much on the one about getting a fed. Job, so that would be a great find if you found a link to something)

If anyone knows anything about this it would be very helpful.

I know that Ritalin is a disqualifier for US Service Academies, unless you have stopped taking it (I thought for a year).

As for elected possitions, I don't know.

If they reinstated the draft, I bet alot of people would be disqualified. Most of the boys I know are on some kind of ritalin type drug!

Instead of running to Canada, just take ritalin :0

That is B/S, why would they make a rule like that, it's not even like I knew what I was getting into / how much I could be limiting my future when I was put on it. Who should I contact to get more information on the second one? Is their some government website with an email address or something?

Hey, works for me, I don't want to be drafted.

But that's ridiculous.
