Nola experience!

Come on Southwest! So the plane door won't close! Have you never heard of jamming the damn thing with a good kick! Flight delayed, connection is in jeopardy. So we are not officially empty nesters YET!

Ouch!! Hang in there, you will make it.

Sorry Vitrac! Nothing like a delayed flight to quell the excitement. :(

If anyone is at Baltimore (BWI) Airport, tell them to hold the plane please. TULANIANS COMING!!! (D2 and another student, thankfully)

Vitrac beat me to it! I was going to start this thread today as well. My son is en route right now from NYC to NOLA… expected to land around 10:15 local time.

He took one giant duffel and a backpack. Had to pay $125 for the extra weight of the duffel (67 pounds) but I guess that’s cheaper than a 2nd suitcase!

I made him PROMISE to text me with some updates during the week and hopefully some photos… I’ll head down on Thursday.

Vitrac: can’t do the Friday night get-together though because his roommate’s mom invited us to dinner with them at Morton’s. It’s NOLA Restaurant Week and lots of places are having special deals. [Coolinary New Orleans](<a href=“Coolinary New Orleans - Official Site | New Orleans & Company”>http://www.coolinaryneworleans.com/)

Forgot to mention: I paid $75 for one overweight bag. It’s all monopoly money now.
Baltimore held the plane for the Tulane girls!! Yay!
Rum House meetup is for drinks only at 5PM. If anyone would like to come, please do. Students, roommate families, etc. are welcome as well.

So exciting to hear about them making their way to NOLA, but I’m so glad to have mine home for a few more days…she kind of wishes she was going because everyone is going to be making friends without her.

I don’t think we’ll be able to make it to the Rum House Friday as we can’t seem to talk S16 into checking out of school early! What kind of kid doesn’t want to get out of school whenever possible? I’m actually proud of him for it though, so I won’t give him a hard time.

Cyclone-Your child’s priorities are sorely misplaced. If you like, I will give him a stern talking to (over drinks!) :)

S made his first leg of the journey…connecting flight in Atlanta. He is due in 3:15 NOLA time…he checked 2 bags - total of $60 (Delta). Can’t wait to hear about things in a few days…I was a little teary thinking he won’t be home till Thanksgiving…but knowing i will see him Fri makes me feel better! Rum house on Fri - looking forward to meeting everyone!!

Son almost to NO. He said they made him check his carry on, hopefully that will make it to MSY. He needs to get his ID and boxes. So excited for him and everyone else.

Good luck to all your students at NOLA. I begged my dd to do it and she wouldn’t now she wishes she had. (Sigh) Although, I am glad to have the few extra days with her and that she has a few extra days to read her book-LOL.

I just got a text from my son which said, “OUR ROOM IS EPIC”.

He’s in Paterson and they have a balcony.

Well it doesn’t get much better than that Mavitale! Hope all the Nola Experience kids have a great week!

Great news MaVitale!!!

D left early this morning out of SFO. Made it to Phoenix but it appears they are delayed into New Orleans. Due in at 4:15 pm now do she will be a bit delayed for the start of the program. Hopefully they will have the shuttles stagged at the airport. 2 bags free on Southwest, love it!

My D made it on time, loves her room and roomate and is texting me already list of things she forgot to pack…that is the reason parents leave later…she loves the high density foam topper I bought…

P.s. we plan to be at Rumhouse on Friday

Yay, Calmom!

I only know what’s going on because my roommate’s mom talked to him last night. They are getting along great. My son had gone out with some friends for a late snack at the Camellia Grill, so I’d say Day One: Success.

I don’t expect to hear anything from him this week.

What tracks are your kids in? Mine is in 21st Century Citizenship which seems like mostly community service.

I get no info from my son - he only texted that he “arrived” and that I did not pack him some essentials (which I did!). So if anyone has info please share…he is in leadership.

I got one text today also involving “when you come can you bring…” and no info about today.
