Wondering if anyone knows? I have my nomination, all forms in order my only problem is a low Critical Reading Score. I have taken the test 3 times and have a high math score 710, but my critical reading is only a 490. Is the 510 a firm, no exception rule?

In this year of changing SAT scores, my understanding is they are looking at the complete resume, especially the classes and grades you have received. I also think the 510 was from the "old SATS." You need a very good math & science background plus be capable of writing a decent essay. If there aren't other more competitive candidates from your area, you have a good shot. Talk it up with your local contact, and visit the school if you haven't already. Good luck!

I have high math and science and the essay on the new sat was high. I have the congressional nomination from my state Congressman. Have visited, love the school.

Great! Ask your local USMMA alum contact &/or your congressman's staff person to check on your progress at the school on your behalf (1st - have you checked with admissions to make sure they have everything?)

Rants...great advice from Weski...missing documents can really slow down the appointment process.

I have to turn in the part 3 then all documents are in, would I definately be denied with less than 510 on critical reading? I also can take the Feb ACT which was snowed out..I signed up for

GET YOUR PAPERS IN!!! No, it is not definate re 510. Take the ACT. It IS definate if you don't get all the paperwork in. Do not delay, do not pass go, file the papers. This is part of the test - can you do all the paperwork! Really!
