Non-Custodial Profile

Hello!

My college hasn’t been able to give an aid offer yet because they say they are missing the NCP. However, I am sure my non-custodial parent filed it since it’s stated in my account and I got a confirmation email. Some of my other colleges also received it and offered me need-based aid. However, I checked and at least one other did not either.

From what I understood, once the NCP has been filed, Collegeboard sends it automatically to the schools that require it. In this case, should I just assume that it’s an error on the part of the institutions? What should I do?

contact the college. If your college requires the non-custodial profile and you are not eligible for a waiver, you will not get a package because your file is incomplete

You have to contact the schools directly. Let them know other schools got it from the Collegeboard.

Is it possible that they are missing the NCP tax return or some other document? Or that they have their own NCP form? Some schools do.

@sybbie719 @OHMomof2 already done. It’s definitely the Collegeboard NCP.

They asked me to check whether my parent added their school code to the Profile. But as far as I knew, it’s me who has to send the Profile to my respective colleges, and Collegeboard automatically sends the NCP to them.

Would anyone know why a school would have received the Custodial Profile but not the Non-Custodial Profile even though it’s been submitted?

This is so specific I think you have to call/email the school. Calling may be preferable.
