just curious, wouldn't applying for undeclared/undergraduate studies be the easiest to get in to?

^ They already consider you for that as a third choice major.

the average ACT for Plan II is a 32

Oh. Well I have a friend that applied as undeclared thinking it will up his chances

calcifer

I have almost the exact same stats as you except your rank is a little higher, almost the same SAT but I have a lot more extracalc and what i thought were great essays. You boosted my confidence level, glad you got, in have fun at ut!

I don't think there will be that many accepted into undeclared.

calcifer, just curious - did you have to send in some type of portfolio? Is acceptance into the school of fine arts also contingent on either an audition or a portfolio?

That would significantly change the admissions process from pure rank and test scores. Otherwise, you'd have a bunch of top 10%ers who can't even draw a circle getting into fine arts :)

you guys are all non-10% from tx right? anyone from OOS get accepted or rejected?

do people who are rejected find out a little later than the people who are accepted?

what about international student ?? please also help an international student... i called the office at UT and they said international decisions will be out in Mid-April. Is that right ? Cause thats a long time to a make a decision.

Shivamparikh if you called the office and they actually told you mid-April, that's probably more accurate than anything we could guess so it's probably mid-April.

I think they may wait to reject people since they don't want to do so prematurely. On this forum people have said they know people that have gotten rejected, but no one I know from the nontop10% has received their rejection yet (or at least last as of last week...).

It's Thursday.
Still no decision online o.O
Ahhhh

got into undeclared liberal arts...
ACT- 31
rank ~15%
lots of ec's

nice.... barton im jealous

from all the forums i've been looking at it looks like admissions is getting closer and closer to those in 12% and 13% and 15% as each day goes by.

barton your stats sound really similar to mine!

hopefully this means i'll find out sometime today or tomorrow :O

dude i've been having crazy dreams about UT this whole week.... last night i was on a beach in California telling my friend that I'm really hoping to get admitted haha

Haha, I've been having dreams about getting in too, lol. I really hope I get in, the wait is killing me!!! Top 15% first choice business, 2nd choice liberal arts.

Im 10.1% (Automatic = 10.09)

First = Natural Sciences
Second = Geosciences

i hope i get in -.-

Admitted:Natural Sciences
SAT: 2100's (M+V) 1410
ACT: 33
Class rank: 15%
ECs: Alot of volunteer....but not so many clubs. No orchestra/band etc for 4 years or anything like that.

LFC8 - I'm glad I boosted your confidence (: I'm hoping for your acceptance as well. Good luck!

ag54 - Yes, I turned in a portfolio for Predesign, and it probably helped me because my stats were not as great as others out of the top 10%, haha! So that is probably taken into account because I doubt people who aren't qualified would be allowed to major in something like that. As for auditions, I'm not familiar with them, but I know that my friends who got into either music, dance, or performing arts had to go in for an audition, or send in a tape or something. Anyway, good luck to you if you are waiting for a decision, and if you have any other questions (though I don't know if I can answer many) just let me know.

Congratulations to all of those out of the top ten percent admitted!

For those of you who have your acceptances (that are non-top 10%), did you find out by looking online or by a letter in the mail?

People have stated on the forum how they just looked online and it told them.
It should be updated online before the letter arrives through the 3day mail trip.

i found out through mail first because i thought i wouldn't find out until march so i hadn't checked online in a while, haha.
