Transferring in to UW, atypical scenario - Need Advice

So I'm currently a freshman at a California University (private school).

I went to high school in the Seattle area, did part time running start and gained 25 GE credits. Right now, I am in my first semester in California, but due to my unfortunate financial circumstances, I have to go back to Seattle after this semester. By the end of this semester, I will have a Microecon course, Business and technical writing course, excel, and presentational speaking course under my belt. Hopefully, all of these will be transferable credits. My plan is to attend community college for winter and spring quarters (and possibly summer, to get ahead) in Seattle, and get admitted for Fall 2015.

This means that when I submit my application, I will still be in the process of taking my courses. Does anybody have any experience with doing something like this? I spoke with a counselor at UW and was told I would be given transfer admission priority if I attended at least 2 quarters at a Washington State community college (which I will be doing).

If it makes any difference, I would have most likely gotten in had I applied during my senior year in high school. In terms of high school credentials and work, I was a very qualified applicant. Unfortunately, my eyes were set on California at the time (like every other typical Seattle high schooler - lol).

Any advice regarding my situation would be helpful, and I love hearing about people's personal experiences as well. I would love to be a UW student next fall and I want to do whatever I can to increase my odds of that.

are you a wa state resident? if not, then start working on establishing one before getting into school, since changing this status might be hard. Also why don’t you transfer directly to uw. ( if you go back to cc, most likely, you will get into uw)

Yes, I am still a WA resident. Have my license and everything. And I have thought about applying to UW directly, but I wondered how hard it would be since I am technically not a Freshman.

Yes, you will be a transfer student. The only benefit of going back to cc is that, 30% of the spots at uw are saved for cc applicants, which technically enhances your chances to get in.
