When transferring to a UC from a community college, do the UC’s care about the whole GPA (basically all the classes you took) or just the transferable units? My transferable units GPA would be way higher then with my nontransferable units.
I’m wondering since my school allows me to retake classes to receive another grade. I really don’t want to waste time on retaking my classes, but I will if the UC cares about your whole GPA, not just the transferable units.
A course may be transferable even if it is not listed for your major.
For example, from Berkeley City College, MATH 1 (Pre-calculus) and MATH 2 (Pre-calculus with Analytic Geometry) are listed as UC transferable courses in https://www.assist.org/transfer/report/15095237 (if this does not work, select your community college and then select the “UC transferable courses” list).
@rk7879 yes, the UC-transferable will be listed on assist in the bottom drop-down.
Pre-calc is transferable, so like @UCBalumnus said don’t get non-transferable mixed up with major requirements.
