Noob wants to self study AP Psychology

Hey guys!

I'm interested in self studying AP Psychology and taking the exam this may. I've never self studied, or even heard of anyone at my school who has. Anyway, I just have a few questions:

Will I be able to get at least a 4 (hopefully a 5) with a read-through of Barron's, and memorizing all of Barron's flash cards? I will have all of February, March, and April.

How do I sign up for the exam? Is there a deadline?

Can I take the exam at my school that doesn't offer AP Psychology, but does offer many others? If not, where do I take the exam?

Are freshman allowed?

Thank you!

However you choose to study, Real AP exams (past) will be your best indicator of your success on the real one.

Talk with your AP Coordination person at your school, registering for AP exams is coming up next month.

Again, this is all your school’s policies and regulations. I wouldn’t see why not?

Many people I know have been saying that they completely treated the AP Psych class in school as a blow off but did stupendously well on the AP test using the Baron’s book, so I think you’ll be alright if you’re good with memorizing stuff. :)

Okay, thanks MoldyBanana and div301.

My son self-studied using AP U.S. History “Crash Course” and swears by it, he got a 4 and only studied the night before the exam.

He loved the book so much he asked me to buy him the “Crash Course” books for AP Gov, AP Psych & AP Calc. He uses all of them to study for his class exams also.

They are small & short and get right to the point, no blah blah & over-summarizing, just the bare bones of what you really need to know. Paid less then $10 each.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll check out the books! For Psychology, I still think I wi go with Barron’s. It seems that everyone says that is the best.
