ive only had it for 6 months...!! i listened to it this mornign and then i just took it out right now nad theres a big round spot on the top right corner! it plays music but the screen is just dead! somebody help!! what can i do?

Clearly you cracked the screen.

how?? it had a protective case and everything! if ive had it for less than a year, do you think i can get it replacded for free?

Yeah, that depends where you bought it but when my friend broke her's they replaced it (twice). Maybe if you just went to where you bought it and asked it would be more effective.

do you have an ipod nano? If so, this is a common thing. It happened to my brother after about 3 months and we sent it back and they gave us a new one.

nope...video

You should have a warranty with it. If it's only been half a year, it's still in effect. (Unless you paid for more years, the warranty is generally 1 year.)

No, you can't get it replaced. You can get it fixed for money though. No warranties cover iPod replacement now because people used to break their iPods on purpose to get the newest models.

The Apple Warranty is LIMITED Parts only. Get it fix or get a new one. It doesn't cover accidents.

Masterus, some stores will replace it though. If you bought a replacement plan thing, then most likely you will get a new one. If you didn't, there is still a decent chance.

My died too, a week after the warranty expired, I was so mad.

mine first ipod started dying right after the warrenty expired, and I finally got one of the refurbished ipods which ended up dying after about two months. I sent it back to apple and they replaced it for free (since it was still under warrenty). the new one's still working fine.
if it looks cracked they probably won't replace it, but if it's a different problem the warrenty should cover it.

I did the same thing a year ago, although I dropped it while it was in its case and got the big blue mark on the screen too. If it kind of looks like a big blue ink stain, it means the lcd screen shattered. Apple won't honor the warranty and repair it for free, and if I'm not mistaken your iPod is no longer under warranty because of the damage. I sent mine to iPod rescue and had a new screen put in and everything's great now.

Apple automatically destroys all current ipods/increases likelyhood of people dropping or cracking their ipod when a new one is released. It's programmed into every ipod created.

why send it back 2 replace the battery when u can do it yourself (i suggest doing it after warranty expires)

yes! its like a blue ink stain!!! GRRR so you dont think theyll give me a new one?

no, they probably won't.

It's an apple product, what do you expect? ;)

this is why you don't buy iPods. go with other ones, like the Creative Zen micro. way better stuff, i've had it for two years and i've had no issues, either software or hardware based.
