Random question: What do you guys think of the nor cal/so cal split? Where would you guys honestly rather go? I live in Nor Cal right now and I love it here, but I REALLY wanna go to LA for college. what about from ppl in so cal? how's life in LA?

I lived in Nor-Cal all my life until a few months ago. The two parts are very different, and I loved Nor-Cal. So-Cal is awesome too, but I would rather live in Nor-Cal.

I'm from NorCal, would much rather be living in SoCal, easily.

born and raised in LA and go to college there too... its got a LOT of problems but i wouldnt be anywhere else.

I've lived in Socal most of my life, but I've visited Norcal twice and have many socal friends. I think socal is more laid-back, yet it can be really superficial, too. Life in LA is super hectic, though, typical of big cities. I'd definitely recommend LA for college anyday :]

I'd rather have superficial over ghetto. Yes, I know that there are some ghetto parts of LA as well, but it doesn't matter to me, as I go to school with a bunch of ghetto people in Norcal. This hyphy crap is annoying, at first it was funny, but now its lame.

Hey I admit the hyphy movement got a bit outta hand, but it is obviously not crap! Hello! ur talking to somebody from the yay area and it is not crap!

what's the hyphy movement?

and uh i lived in the midwest for most of my life then i moved to SoCal, but iv'e been to norcal a lot. basically, the feeling i got is that nor-cal is more like the rest of the nation, peoplewise and just the general feel of the area, except nor-cal is more beautiful than 90% of the rest of the US. So-Cal is as most people would imagine it, there's lots of materialistic people, lots of money going around, but if uv'e got it made, there's no better place to be

"I'd rather have superficial over ghetto."

You obviously went to the wrong parts of NorCal.

I lived in SoCal ever since I was 5 (I'm 17 now), I like how there's always something to do and somewhere to go with someone (lol). I've never been to NorCal (although I really want to visit). I heard that everyone's more chill and laid-back up there. shrugs

I'm in LA for school and I definitely enjoy it.
I would suggest SoCal over NorCal if you like warmth, the beach, etc.

norcal.
i don't quite understand why there's all this fuss about socal weather. i really do prefer norcal's--it's much more moderate, usually in the 60s and 70s. i mean, if you like sweltering heat...

lol. it's your choice what you like, quirk, relax! :P

NorCal's not bad; they're just different. We're each presenting our opinions--as are you! :D

"Hey I admit the hyphy movement got a bit outta hand, but it is obviously not crap! Hello! ur talking to somebody from the yay area and it is not crap!"

Settle down, ok, so I didn't mean it was crap, but it's getting out of hand.

"You obviously went to the wrong parts of NorCal."

*** at went, I live in NorCal, San Jose to be exact, and my school is ghetto, so don't act as if you are me.

Proved my point, San Jose is ghetto.

socal does not have sweltering heat. we have the best possible climate you could have. sunny days without humidity and cold without the wind.

haha you've never been to Orange County/San Diego have you?

And, yeah, wth is the "hyphy" movement?

The "Hyphy Movement" is just a rap thing. Alot of Bay Area rappers are coming out now, which is cool, but it can get annoying. Look it up

is it gay? (pun intended)

As for the weather, didn't it snow in LA yesterday?

But anyway, I prefer northern CA (because no one I know actually calls it "norcal.") I also have no clue what the stupid "hyphy" movement is. Northern CA is prettier and has breathable air. But frankly, CA is not the end-all of end-alls. I'm living in OKC right now, and I haven't found it to be too different from San Jose (I live like 2 minutes away from SJ). And we get snow! And weird snow-looking ice! It's fun, though I had to walk to Walmart... But CA has boring weather.
