NorCal geek attending school in Ohio?

Don’t try this around Cincinnati - Dayton. There’s a reason radar detectors were invented there :)

Awesome list! Miami is a great school, I have a few friends that went there.

I really wish we could post pictures on here so you could see what it looks like here on March 25, 2013…

But keep in mind-last year we hardly had any snow. You just never know what you are going to get around here. (Central Ohio by the way).

“Miami, given its preppy Greek mileu, is a less likely fit, and has been described by some as a “J. Crew” environment.”

Yeah, I don’t consider this a geek school at all. Good education for a smart kid? Sure. But it’s a competitive social scene and very homogeneous. It’s hard for me to imagine a UCSC or RIT kid there, unless he’s just going to be happy with a small tribe of fellow geeks and doesn’t care what else is going on on campus.

… yes … he said all he needs is a small tribe! He isnot likely to even notice the rest.

Thx all

80% of Jeff Foxworthy quips would apply to the upper midwest also…a fun laugh. But yes, Miami would not fit anyone’s definition of “quirky” I don’t believe…definitely more wholesome than quirky. At times I think you can take all the midwest colleges and universities under 25,000 and divide them between OK for quirky kids and wholesome. You could subdivide quirky into hipster and geeky…but wholesome is well…wholesome.
