Given the intense rivalry over this issue between bookfreak89 and myself, I felt this deserved a new thread.

Right now, it stands at 3-2 Norcal-Socal.

Pros of Norcal:
-weather: while a lot of people who haven't visited either believe Southern California has the better weather, I'm a firm believer that Northern California is superior. True, the former has sun and beaches, but after so long, the heat just gets excessive. Northern California, on the other hand, is warm, but not too much. The weather here is moderate, rarely too cold or too hot.
-cities: Los Angeles vs. San Francisco. Polluted wasteland or picturesque bay? You make your choice ;)
(also Berkeley is better than whatever else is down in Socal)
-public schools: Berkeley > LA, Berkeley > SD.
-atmosphere: from what I've seen, Norcal people are just a lot more chill than Socal people. Sorry.

Atmosphere: I think that SoCal people are more exciting and adventurous. NorCal people are laid-back and chill. Although different people have different preferences, I pick SoCal for this category.

Cities: Not all of L.A. is polluted. L.A. is busy and bustling with things to do. I guess this goes with the atomsphere I described above.

haha so would I... I mean you can't compare all the superficial west-coast "Oh m'Gawd.... do you, like, wanna go to the beach??" people to the hardworking, slightly paler east coast people... :)

Sorry to hijack the thread... you may proceed with your SoCal vs. NorCal debate...

NorCal for culture! There's the SF Opera House, Louise Davies Symphony Hall, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miz came to the Orpheum Theatre, and much more.

Also, most of you weren't even born yet, but in the '70s, Queen Elizabeth preferred SF over LA when she came to CA, because of its classiness.
