Northeastern Fall 2013 Transfer Page

I believe they house many transfers in IV which is very nice (but not apartment style which is what most upperclassman choose).

I am sending out my mid term grades today so hopefully they will be looking at my application by the end of the week. What do you guys think my chances are of getting accepted? I am applying to the Business Administration school.

Currently at UMass Amherst

First semester GPA: 3.93
Mid term GPA: 3.75
Strong recommendation letter
Sister attended Northeastern University
Good extra curricular, not the best.

It’s been a month since my application has been completed. Hoping for an answer soon! :)

I’m also applying from UMass. Are you a freshman?

BostonBruins1, we have similar stats. I am also applying for the Business School. Hope to get my decision soon. Good luck

I just called the undergraduate admissions office and they told me that I should hear within 2-3 weeks (I had mostly everything in the second week of February with the exception of my mid-term report). Have any of you heard back yet or called as well?

My recommendation letter was sent out last Thursday…And Northeastern University has not received it nor added it to the Application Status Check. They updated my College Report that was sent out March 15th… so it takes 2 weeks to get stuff. I just sent out my Midterm grades Tuesday…So hopefully they will get everything in less than 2 weeks and let me know their decision.

May 1st is the deadline for applicants to accept Northeastern’s decision?

Well this has been a long and painful process, but everything is back on track now.

I’ll shorten this story down as much as possible.

Some transcripts I sent back in November were missing, notably there was a clerical error on my part. However for TWO MONTHS worth of weekly calls I was informed that everything had been receieved and that i would have a decision by mid-march. Some really poor excuses were made, and an email to the VP of Admissions later the issue has been resolved.

No bad blood, I’m just happy i’m going to get a timely decision. I was extremely dissapointed when I found out I might not get a decision before May 1st.

NEU is the only University that hasn’t given me a decision yet, and it’s driving me absolutely insane :[. I got into RIT and a few others, but RIT is #2 under NEU. My visit to RIT blew me away, and it’s honestly competing for #1 right now.

Quick stats
Transfer Applicant
Computer Science Major
College GPA: 3.8 (only 2 classes though)
6 Year US Navy Veteran with 5 years of Software Development Experience in Operational and R&D environments
EC’s: Piano, Singing, Acting, Community Service, Eagle Scout…

I’ve got two very strong recommendations from an Officer and a Senior R&D Scientist. I wrote my essay on my choice to join the military, hold off on college, and why I’m ready to tackle my degree now.

I also have what are called ACE credits, which are basically credits that many colleges will award me for some of my military schools. I believe NEU considers these for admission and placement, but the do not consider them for awarding credits.

Anyone know vets at NEU or want to chance me? I’m visiting next weekend, because screw it boston is a fun town anyway, even if i don’t get in.

On the online status check it says that all of my required documents are in…so is the page going to change at all to something like, “Your application is under review.” I am a little nervous that I might be missing something, or that my app isn’t being reviewed. If anyone knows that would be great.

No, it won’t change. My package is under review and that page looks exactly the same.

Infact, I have confirmation that various items were receieved, but they were never added to the status check page. That’s why i was calling like once a week for two months lol.

If you are concerned, either email or call your admission counselor and ask them directly, just state your concern politely.

I see…thank you! and good luck everyone!

I will have 31 credits by the end of this semester. I called them before and they said my app was complete and “Under review” and I don’t have to send SAT scores, but I’m not sure if they gave me the right answer…anyone want to tell me if I have to send them in.

My portal is down!! I guess this means it’ll be next week, hopefully?

@MyChemicalLoofa, good luck! When did you have all of your materials in?

@CRothschild462 - February 26

I GOT IN!!! YOU DON’T KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM!!!

MyChemicalLoofa what were your stats? And what did you apply for?

Fall 2012 I attended USC for Music Industry
I took this semester off, so I still had to send in my high school transcripts, etc.
SAT: 2080
HS GPA: 4.0 (weighted)
College GPA: All As (only 12 credits)
Extracurriculars: Robotics, M.Y.S.P.A.C.E., Rock Ensemble, GrammyU, etc.
Great recs
Major: Music Industry

in my portal, the dates on the reception of my submitted materials keep changing. like i had all of my transcripts in by early march but now some of them are dated as the 27th and 28th. does anybody know what the significance of this is? i’m so anxious to hear back and i’m worried that this means that they didn’t start reviewing my application until a few days ago, even though most of my materials were in before march

I agree with hopefullyfresh, the same thing has happend to me and my stuff has been in for months

The same thing had happened to me - don’t worry
