Northeastern Fall 2014 Transfers

@cctransfer212 i declined it right when i saw how many credits they took.

Just received my acceptance!!

@nh2boston when did you apply?

@dzharkov I applied back in February, they received my last document in March.

I’ve been accepted to the College of Science! I’m a psych major :slight_smile: I just recieved my decision today around 4pm EST. They emailed me as soon as they posted my decision (I know this because I was refreshing the page all day today and my portal was not working).
I don’t know when they are going to post financial aid, but I’ve already decided I’ll be attending BU in the fall.

@cctransfer212 I had a 3.7 college gpa and for high school I had a 3.0 unweighted but a 3.6 weighted.

@cctransfer212 I decided I do not want to attend BU because they will not accept any of my communications credits which is my major and I have about 9 of those and although it isn’t a huge deal, for me personally Northeastern was my number one dream school since junior year of high school so BU was more of a backup.

I also just got accepted today! I applied as a communications major on January 29 but my transcripts did not arrive until March 14 due to an issue at my current school. Good luck to everyone else still waiting, I hope you will all get admitted too.

@onemiletoboston4‌ I am a journalism major so in a way communications too, I was just wondering why BU over NEU as far as communications go? I do not think I can attend BU where I was also accepted because too little financial aid, but Northeastern is one of my options. Only problem is that I feel like their comm/journalism program is not very well-known so I don’t know how it is and how I feel about it.

@olo59u I chose Northeastern over BU because of the co-op specifically. It gives me the opportunity to make more money while still in school whereas BU does not offer that and I know it is hard to find internships in the communications field that pay. I have tons of friends at northeastern which is another deciding factor, but they said all of their communications co-ops have been paid and I would prefer to make money while interning. Also, it never hurts to graduate with job experience so that is why I chose Northeastern. BU has a very well known program but Northeastern is gaining more prestige, and like I said Northeastern offers me a better social atmosphere with my friends and family there.

Does anyone know if Northeastern carries over our GPA?

@transfer333‌, no, your gpa does not transfer with the credits.

Alright anyone else getting very disappointed that they still haven’t heard back…

well im still waiting for the end of the week to come. i hope i get my decision then.

Still waiting too! Got my acceptance to Tufts on Friday so just waiting on Northeastern to make a decision.

hopefully by the end of the week if lucky. if you cannot access your portal by this thursday or friday, then your decision is on its way.

I called today and they told me all decision will be released by the end of May

yep ^^. they’re releasing decisions every week or every two weeks. im not pretty sure.

The end of May is too late. I applied in February. I have to sign up for housing and orientations and make deposits by mid-May at other schools and I’m not trying to spend money and time at schools I won’t be going to. This is ridiculous. I understand mid/late May responses from Ivy leagues but come on… Northeastern transfer decisions are typically late April… And what does this say about my application… is it still being deliberated? The mental strain is distracting me from my finals. Enough!!!

@jbones157 I hear you. I had to have a deposit down and orientation sign up for May 1st. I called Northeastern several times throughout April to find out when I should expect to hear and finally I just had to pay the deposits and progress like I was attending my other school. At this point I’m almost hoping I don’t get in because I’ve had to sink nearly $300 into fees and such. I hope you are able to hear back before your deadlines arrive.
