Pros and Cons of each? Looking to major in probably business, also interested in journalism & digital photography/art.

I need the low down on food/area/social/dorms/classes/prestige/job placement… anything and everything a prospective student should know!

I can only answer in regards to Fordham. Fordham food is pretty bad, the Bronx isn’t the nicest area, and lots of forced triples. Because it’s NYC there are lots of internships and job opportunities.

I almost went to Fordham, but decided not to. It’s a reputable school, but there’s a very strong core curriculum, which means that you won’t really get started with your major until junior year. And the Bronx is kind of gross too.

All I know about Northeastern is that it takes five years to graduate which is something I wouldn’t want. But Boston is a lot of fun, so I guess that’s a pro.

My S is very happy at Fordham. Yes, the dining service sucks, but you are just blocks away from Arthur Avenue where excellent Italian food is reasonably priced. Plus he has had kitchens in his dorm for junior and senior year so doesn’t use the cafeteria a whole lot now. He loves the location (accessible to NYC but with a beautiful traditional campus setting) and has done an internship in NYC.
Yes, core is time consuming, but he didn’t hate it and I feel that he’s coming out of college as a well read, well rounded individual. Not the worst thing that can happen.
I think the decision should come down to two things (1) do you want NYC or Boston and (2) do you want a co-op program or not. Only you can answer these questions.

Not true. Northeastern offers four and five year options. The 5 year option provides a third coop period.
