I just called and they said I’ll hear back no later than june 15 but possibly earlier… so I guess it’s safe to say that the decisions are going to come out at a random, unpredictable time this year for transfers
Well I emailed Assistant Director of International Admissions a few days ago regarding decisions. This was her reply:
“Thank you for your email! Yes, we release admissions decisions for transfer applicants in batches throughout May and June.” I believe we will be hearing decisions before June 1st.
@yankeebanger in batches? What on earth is going on here? Most of them have said that we’re all going to receive a decision on the same day but you have a few saying that they will come in waves. We even had that counselor saying we’ll have heard by the end of this week… idk if this is some sort of unacceptable miscommunication or they’re just inexplicably playing with us but this is bizarre.
We’ve all heard like 5 different responses from 5 different authorities. Clearly there is no set date NOR is there a set rolling wave, just wait and see. The ONLY thing we do KNOW is that we’ll have decisions by June 15. Regardless of how we feel about that fact, it exists. So let’s stop the pointless speculation and just update each other if something actually happens, no?
I agree @msport Also, side note: Not really a fan of this new web layout/look.
@WordSmithNY Yeah, me neither. It’s kinda weird…I liked the old one better.
Anything from NEU yet?
@darkhound173 I wish :’(
Put my deposit for BU because Northeastern is taking forever
If you are looking for no speculation, you have come to the wrong place… lol
Me too I just put my $300 deposit at my safety school
Are you allowed to put in multiple deposits?
You can… but I think it’s stupid and wrong to do so. By doing so, you put your spot on the enrollment list, sure, but you also deny someone on the waiting list a spot. If you’re planning to place down your deposit with no intention of going to the university, I’d say save your money. I get that some schools are taking forever, but come on. Save your money and make an actual decision of where you want to go. It’s better for the school (which uses the information based on your profile to make accommodations, such as dorm space, faculty hiring, etc), it’s better for you (you won’t be out a couple of hundred bucks down the road), and it’s better for that poor guy who’s sweating bullets on the waitlist.
I agree with @JoeDangit . If you deposited to another school and are set on NOT attending northeastern, I would suggest you withdraw your application and take yourself out of the process. You could take away someone’s chance at attending if you just keep your application in the running. I really would suggest this if you are not going to attend NEU and have already committed to another school.
