Hello, I am applying to Northeastern for chemical engineering for this fall. This school has a great program and I am extremely interested. I was wondering what my chances are for admittance based on my grades, SAT scores, and extra curriculars.
As of right now I have a 3.9 GPA out of 5, this may seem low but it is more so due to my freshman and sophomore year grades. My school operates on a trimester schedule so my AP grades are as follows
Junior Year:
AP Chemistry B+, A-, A
AP BC Calculus: A- (Third Trimester only)
Senior Year:
AP Physics: A
AP BC Calculus: A-
I know these grades will factor in the most, but I did take Honors Precalculus with two A-'s and various Honors English and History classes with roughly the same grades.
My SAT composite score is a 1420 with a 770 in Math and a 650 in Reading and Writing. I took the SAT Chemistry exam and got a 760.
My extracurricular activities include varsity track and field, Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout Rank), National Honors Society, Marching Band, Chemistry Tutoring, science team, environmental club and working as a landscaper. During last summer I had also been an intern at an IT company.
Thank you very much!
