Northeastern University Class of 2012 Decision Thread

anyone flat out rejected?

Lots of people were, however if someone was accepted they are much more likely to post in a thread like this than if they were rejected, also cc being a forum about college usually only attracts those that care more about college apps, ie higher caliber students, so the average outcome here is skewed as such.

hey guys i too have been accepted but I have not been able to view my decision letter the letter cannot be opened !!!! what shall I do????????

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a message comes Acrobat Reader " the viewer cannot decrypt this document" what shall I do?

update your pdf viewer

Do you have the most up-to-date version of Acrobat Reader?

If not, try updating. If yes, then contact NEU admissions. You'll get something in the mail, but the letter I got in the mail wasn't an exact copy of the decision letter. So just contact admissions office.

not going tho.

accepted....27 act....3.3 gpa...excellent recs....really good essay.....in for english...but switching to music industry with a minor in buisness......and I will be attending

so im guessing no one got rejected...

I'm sure plenty of people got rejected based on the stats in the other thread.Trying to figure out what the freshman class will be comprised of ,being that my D will be attendng, she has a few friends that were waitlisted and some rejected, but they got into B.U.[she did also but liked neu better] Funny I thought B.U.was "better"-guess the tides are changing....

B.U used to be my top choice.....i think I was obsessed with the rep it has.....and I just love boston....I've visited b.u twice....n.u once.....b.u rejected me so it made my decision all the more easy......N.U class of 2013

Decision: Rejected

Stats:
SAT: 1770
ACT: N/A
GPA: Around a 3.5-3.7 (I'm homeschooled so it's hard to calculate. I'll know for sure by the end of this year)
Rank: We don't use rank :\
Other stats: Average grades, took a lot of AP & honors courses

Subjective:
Essays: Yes, I submitted. It was pretty unique, haha.
Teacher Recs: Really good
Counselor Rec: Really good
Hook: A lot of EC's that aren't school-sanctioned; I take my courses online so that requires me to be able to be extremely responsible and use my time wisely (I don't have due dates, or anyone telling me what we're going to do in class today, etc)

Location/Person:
State or Country: Pennsylvania
School Type: Cyberschooled, was traditionally homeschooled part of 10th and all of 11th grades, attended public and catholic school during 9th and 10th grades
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Female
Major strengths/weaknesses: Strengths - I'm able to manage my time without someone telling me what to do when, I'm a really good writer/great at English, took AP courses (including Anatomy & Physiology and I'm entering college as a nursing major). Weaknesses - math, switched schools a lot (not due to problems with me, but rather problems with other kids and teachers not doing their jobs).

Other:
Honors: I was on honor roll a few times
Financial aid?: Didn't get in, so N/A
Attending?: No, I'll be attending Simmons :)

phew... sorry that's mean, truebeliever... but i was kinda worried seeing as no one was rejected...

^ lots of people were rejected. I play on a sports team and we had 20 "recruits" on our list which we gave to admissions. Out of 20, only 2 got accepted. Don't forget that CC is not a very accurate sample of the applicant pool.

obviously i meant ppl on cc...

I wasn't under the impression that you meant EVERYONE. I know you were just talking about CC, but you've posted several times that "no one" was rejected, that you were "kind of worried", and said "phew" when you heard of someone not getting in, as if anyone with decent stats is a shoo-in to the school. I wasn't calling you an idiot, just giving some other perspective beside your posts about so many people getting accepted.

Haha, it's alright flyguy. I was disappointed at first, because I love Northeastern, but I ended up getting into my second choice (Simmons). Both really great schools, and Simmons has a strong Nursing program. Plus, I still get to be in Boston! :D
