Northeastern vs BU for Film

Hello! I was recently accepted into the film programs at both BU (Film and Television) and Northeastern (Media and Screen Studies). I was also waitlisted at Emerson, which I’m a bit sad about :frowning: . Anyways, I am having trouble deciding which school to attend. I’m not too familiar with either school’s film programs or reputations, but am in the process of researching. I really like NEU’s co-op program, and they seem to partner with a lot of companies in my respective field of study. This will obviously be beneficial to securing a job post-graduation. I also really like their study abroad program. However, I don’t know how I feel about graduating in 5 years. I understand that they offer 4 year programs, and that they are fairly popular, however, I feel as though that may be difficult to handle. NEU seems like a very intense, serious school, and, though I obviously care about my academics, don’t really want to risk being miserable. I have also been told that the student population is a bit distant. I’m fairly shy anyways, but I don’t know if being isolated for 4-5 years will be good for me. Regarding BU, I think that their film program is more established and connected, but I have heard that their study abroad programs have been mediocre at best, and I wasn’t particularly happy with the campus. I really didn’t like the buildings I toured, however, I was unable to tour the College of Communication itself, so maybe I will change my mind. Basically, I was hoping someone could help me regarding which school has better academics in my area of study, and which has a better student experience. I understand that this is a matter of opinion, but any help is appreciated!

I would also like to add that my financial aid packages for both schools are very similar, so that isn’t playing a big role in my decision. Additionally, I was also accepted into the film program at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, but at $20k more per semester. Would it be worth it to study there instead of BU or NEU?
