I just need reviews and want to know which each of you thought was better. Or what have you observed at or heard about these places.

I took a tour of Northlake and the Edge, but I haven’t seen Alafaya Club. I think the Edge is much better than Northlake. It’s cheaper, the bedrooms are bigger, and the amenities are nicer. I would go with the Edge out of these three.

Yeah I’m leaning towards The Edge.
I just liked Alafaya Club because the rooms and closets are huge and it seems like a smaller complex/community.
Thanks for the response!

D will be staying in Northgate for Fall 2010/Spring 2011. We chose it because of it’s proximity to the campus, she could literally walk to campus if need be and is very close via shuttle. The cost is only about $20 more a month than the Edge, which is miles from campus. Proximity to campus is something to consider, especially if you find you will need to drive and PARK on campus.

I have a friend who lived in the Edge and his apartment wasn’t great… unfortunately he ended up with a unit where someone smoked, so the smell was left over and the walls were discolored. Also, the unit was kind of dark. It wasn’t TERRIBLE, it just wasn’t great. He did have the leather style furniture, which was nice. The Edge also has the nicest pool of any apartment complex around.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Northgate from people online; no one I know lives there but it’s VERY close to campus. It’s on a quieter side of the area (back side of UCF) instead of being right on top of Alafaya like the Edge is. The proximity to campus is really nice.

My impression of Northgate is that it’s nicer than the Edge, but I’m not completely informed. I’d say ask a few people who live in each complex, maybe go to the pool and talk to some of the residents.

Also keep in mind, anything relating to management at the complexes will be similar at each one, since all are managed by American Campus.

Thanks for the responses. I choose Village at Alafaya Club. Met a current student at orientation that said the place was nice and her friends liked it there…so we shall see!

I lived at Village at Alafaya Club for 2 years and I loved it (even though I didnt love my roommates sometimes) haha. Huge rooms, walk-in closets and each room has a dead-bolt on the door. I had bedroom C (back hallway). I would say deffinetly get bedroom B or D (hallway rooms) because they are best and biggest! Also, a great way to make your room feel bigger is take your bedroom closet doors off! It opens the room up so much and I hung a cute curtain over the opening. The Edge was recently renamed like a year ago but its still ghetto and small. The Edge is where you go to party, not to live. Its loud and the people who live there are mostly VCC students who wish they went to UCF. Dont get me wrong Alafaya kids party too but you dont hear it through the walls like you do at Edge. Any other questions you have, please ask!
