Northwestern Chance?

I'm an upper middle class African American female living in Texas who's parents went through a really bad divorce my freshman and sophomore year so keep that in mind about my grades.

GPA: 3.5 (unweighted); 3.8 (weighted)
Class Rank: 200/950

I haven't taken the SAT/ACT yet because I just finished my sophomore year.
I've only taken one AP class, World History, so far but the teacher that taught that was incompetent and is now teaching 6th grade next year. I got a 3 on that test.
Other AP test I plan on taking: US History, European History, English Language, English Literature, Art History, Phycology, Environmental Science, Government/Economics and Latin in the next two years.

Activities I'll Have Participated in throughout High School:
-Clarinet (6th-12th)
-Newspaper
-Technical Theatre
-Rotary Club secretary
-Academic Decathlon
-Key Club
-Girl Scout (since Kindergarten; working on Gold Award-highest award for the scouts)
-Over 400 hours of community service
-Started own tutoring business for elementary thru middle school students

I know that my grades have only been so/so these past two years but all the teacher's I've had these past two years have all said that I'm one of the brightest students they've encountered and are all willing to write about the situation and how it's effected my grades, particularly my teachers who graded me before the divorce and then after during freshman year. My two younger siblings and I also had to see a therapist during the divorce because of the immense trauma we all suffered.
If I mention all of this in my college essay, include at least a statement from my therapist and a teacher, get straight A's the next two years (which I know I can do now that things have settled down with my parents) and get a 31 ACT score/2100 SAT do I have any chance? I know this is based all off of "what-ifs" and guessing but your input would be highly appreciated.

For your essay, Northwestern looks for unique students.
Although you went through all those hardships, I would be careful of making the admission reader uncomfortable or almost too pitiful.
Not that it’s a bad idea, but just be careful of crossing that line between “life growing experience” and pleading.

Set a good goal to get a higher GPA.
To be sure, I would secure at least a 33 on your ACT.
Great extracurriculars though!

Good luck!
