“Legacy hooks has nothing to do with financial aid, to suggest all legacy hooks applicants are given admission is as absurd as to say all non-legacy applicants are non-competent.”
There has been a misunderstanding here, and I agree with you. Idk where u got this vibe from, as there was some clear error in interpretation from both ends.
@PPofEngrDr
Accepted RD Northwestern class of 2023. ACT 34. W:11 4 SAT Subject exams with scores above 750. 2 Amazing recs from AP Language and Composition, AP Calculus, and Anatomy/Physiology well as ones from my local newspaper editor and State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council coordinator. Applied for Journalism major in the Medill school.
My stats were decent, but not stellar. It my essays that reflected a passion for writing and the Asian American Journalism Association JCamp experiences that shaped my Northwestern “why” essay.
Others achievements that may’ve helped: State of Iowa Youth Advisory Council(SIYAC) Executive Chairperson and 3 year member(working on an education bill that’s highly likely to be signed into state law), features writer for my local paper for the past 6 years, written for Hindu newspaper and Chicago Tribune, United States Senate Youth Program Delegate, Asian American Journalism Association JCamp Student Leader, National Society of Colonial Dames Student Leader, Coca-Cola Scholar, and World Food Prize Global Youth Institute.
@dkahfdfhk My admission packet came today, it’s time to check bud
Does anyone know when financial aid packets come out?
@KillBillFan22 I called them today and they said they would be out by Friday of this week.
@minniemouse143 Thank you so much
I accessed my financial aid package via Northwestern’s Caesar and it was way way too small for me to go, but then I checked again about an hour later and I no longer had access to the financial aid package. It now says “Inquiry Access Denied” and does not allow me to see it. The rest of Caesar seems to be working fine. I was also very surprised to receive the financial aid package so early as I was under the impression it was not supposed to come out until Friday… Does anyone know what this means? Why can I not access it anymore? Will the fin aid package I saw initially change? Any advice is welcome.
Does anyone know when acceptance packages arrive in the mail?
@joey544 I got my acceptance package yesterday (i live in the midwest if that helps)
@katedagreat Thank you! Also, does anyone know if Northwestern admits you directly into your major or are you admitted into that school, so you can apply for that major later on?
@joey544 I think you are admitted into the school and you have a major but it’s not that hard to change majors within a school. For example, I was admitted into the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and I applied for biology but if I go then I can easily change it to biochem or another major in that college
@joey544 I live in the south and my acceptance package came yesterday as well
Waitlisted for Weinberg Arts and Sciences. Really wasn’t expecting anything; there’s so many amazing candidates. Not expecting much now as apparently Northwestern doesn’t pull much from the waitlist, but c’est la vie! Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I know amazing students/people who were rejected point blank.
Fat rejection. That’s wild. Not really but still
congratulations to all those accepted!
Financial Aid awards are supposed to be released starting this evening in case anyone was wondering
@KillBillFan22 how do you know?
has anyone received financial aid yet?
