northwestern(econ) vs brown(econ) vs nyu stern(finance)

ok so I think I will go to NU but I want to hear what others think
As you all are, I'm interested in IB
In terms of job placement, and first year salary(even if it's not IB), please rank these schools and if there are any other things I have to consider, please put them down too
thank you

nyu stern would be good in terms of IB placement..
but for the college experience and prestige, i'd go to brown.

northwestern has an amazing econ department also, but i'd go to brown since it's an ivy.

Even though brown is an ivy NU is ranked very similar (above brown this year), and their econ department is known to be in the very top tier. I'd say stern for specifically IB placement because of the sheer amount of internship opportunities throughout your undergrad. My friend's a sophmore at Stern and has already had 2 internships at known ibanking firms. I'm pretty sure NU would be great as well since its a target school for many of the larger firms.
1. NU/Stern tie
2. Brown

thank you for every input
any other thoughts?
I know this question has been asked many times and this question is also very broad but what is better when looking for a job-majoring in business or majoring econ
and what school is most prestigious?
thanks

Brown would be my choice closely followed by NU

Choosing a college solely based on IB placement into BB's would be silly but even if that was your idea Brown would give you just as much opportunity if not more than Stern. Yes Stern has more opportunities for internships and such, being in the city, but at the end of the day you will be graduating from an Ivy and no matter what anyone on here tells you that is much more impressive than a degree in finance from Stern.

from my experience almost EVERYONE in Stern wants IB, compared to NU and Brown, where I'm sure there are many students gunning for BB positions, but it is nowhere near as competitive as Stern.

By no means are you doomed by choosing Stern over Brown, vice versa. NYU is a pretty poorly ranked school, the thing that keeps it's prestige semi high, however, is Stern. Brown is an all around great school, and has respectable prestige on Wall Street.

I would choose Brown, just for the ivy connections, and prestige. A lot of kids transfer from NYU to Brown each year, but not vice versa, you may want to keep that in mind.

Also, do you plan on working in NYC? If not, definetly go with Brown. The only reason NYU places well on the street is because of it's location to wall street.

I would be choosing between Brown and Northwestern based on fit. In my opinion, the comments about Stern are true. Brown and NU have a lot of prestige overall and just as many opps, if not more, whereas NYU overall is not comparable and Stern is full of IB prospects just dying to cut you out of the picture.

yeah.. the business school atmosphere sucks.
everybody needs to just be friends.

thewharrtonschool/so do you recommend brown over stern? then what about NU?
I know they are all great schools but I thought NU was slightly better than brown? correct me if i'm wrong

the_aspirant/the atmosphere of stern is not good?

of course not. it's very cut-throat and competitive. and as for nyu as a whole, there's no campus life whatsoever.

and also, what if you end up not wanting to do ib? northwestern and brown will give you so many more opportunities and you'll actually have a campus.. haha.

but yeah, brown all the way :]

These three schools couldn't be more different!

Taking your career aspirations out of the picture for a moment, which school appeals to you the most in terms of location, beauty, size, student body, etc.?

I would give you my opinion, but I'm a little too biased. (cough GO WILDCATS!)
