@jonthelin: yeah i guess i didnt convince them. but seriously, one of my interviewers even said that I will be an “excellent addition to HPME.” I was waitlisted from the Undergrad, so maybe that is why they rejected me?

@youwillsee1: The HPME admissions doesn’t communicate very much with the normal admissions department as far as I can tell. It doesn’t make much sense for the HPME department to ask you to interview if you were going to be waitlisted at NU.

yeah, in all honesty, I think the NW undergrad is much more organized than the medical school, or actually both are really messed up. I mean why make me drive down all the way to chicago and then waitlist me from the undergrad. but, everything works out for the best.

Youwillsee1,

At least you have Harvard as your safety!
Just go to Harvard. You will not regret it!
If you are low income, Harvard will probably give more financial aid than NU.
It is difficult to choose between HPME and Harvard. Now you do not have to make the difficult choice.

Admitted to Harvard and waitlisted by NW, is it true?
By the way, anybody know how many applicants applied HPME this year?

Youwillsee1: You got into Harvard, but got waitlisted in to Northwestern? That’s just not even possible. Oh well, you tried your best to getting into HPME, but you got into Harvard. Great job!

I have heard of someone getting waitlisted at Johns Hopkins and admitted to Brown PLME. Crazy things happen.

accepted, i’m from NJ

ACCEPTED!!! From Texas - either this or U of Chicago…guess im pretty sure where im going

Wow, it’s ridiculous how many on CC got accepted to HPME this year in this thread. That’s like six people already. Congrats!

Accepted! From Cali :)

can you post your stats twilight girl and other who havent before, for the younger kids!

accepted! are any of you going to wildcat days on the 12th?

Accepted at NU HPME, wait-listed at Harvard. It’s unreal. But I am so happy and grateful for the nodd.

REQUEST: TO ALL HPME “CURRENT” STUDENTS (Yes, Already there!!!)

Would anyone, who is in the Northwestern HPME program already, be available to answer questions from someone just admitted? I want to make an educated decision and hope to get an insider’s view.

Please let me know, or send a private email. I was also thinking that there is probably a list of basic questions that all of us can assemble into a final product, which could then be answered by the current HPME students. Perhaps there could be an independent forum or a private communication system devised. Any ideas?

I am just so grateful to have this opportunity. Everyone during the interview process seemed truly encouraging, including Dr. Green who was so incredibly gracious to me. I really felt that they believed in my ultimate potential and would provide the opportunity for me to stretch…

^ Good idea…why don’t you post a few questions if they are of a public or general nature? I can see if my D is willing to add a few of her own.

@ dualdegreedr and pk92, if you guys have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at my username @gmail.com. Hope to see you guys in the summer!
