This is the 3 questions that they ask on the last page. They want you to type your response on no more than 2 sheets of paper and attach that to the app. Personally, I found the room they gave on the activities part to be really small, so I had to attach extra sheets to list out and explain each activity.

Is there anyway to type the non-essay part of the forms? What is the Personal History Essay? The three short questions?

Prob not a good idea. the app doesnt say specifically that copies can be used seeing as if you would have to scan the app and then type on it and then print it out (unless you make a template on word by measuring the line distances and stuff on the app which will take you forever).

Just write it on the app, if you have sloppy handwriting just have someone write for you. and refer to above post about personal history essay.

Or you can go old-style and use a typewriter!

Is Writing required for SATIIs if you are going for HPME?

^i'm pretty sure the answer to that is: No.
you need Math level 2 and Chemistry.

^^^^Ya, but the writing portion is required for the ACT. And when you take the SAT, they actually view your writing score and that's what they mean when they say you need an SAT in writing. Btw, math II and chem were easiest SATII's taken IMO. am I right?

This is totally off topic but your username makes me think of pyruvate.

OFF TOPIC AGAIN:
^hey, i thought the same thing too!!
I also thought that it might mean "private(as in military) to you"
i think both of them are wrong though

BACK ON TOPIC:
has everyone submitted their applications? mine's going overnight tomorrow-monday...

The application just needs to be postmarked by Jan 1st right? Do we have to send the application in one of the envelopes they sent? One of the envelopes has the HPME address as the return address...what are we supposed to do with that one?

^^ yeahhh same question...

btw did you guys hand-write your application, or scan and type?

and also: does anyone know when we find out about interviews? ...is it before february?

I sent mine in yeah!!!!!!!!!
now the wait. and NU regular app to submit. and other college apps. and and and...

I hand-wrote my application. I had to do the grades page three, *3 TIMES * in pen because it was so hard to fit everything into the table they gave.

about interviews, i have no idea, but, if we get an interview does it suggest that we will get accepted to the regular NU?

I'm finishing mine right now. It's going in the mail today.

I have been shadowing a surgeon for the last four months, and I had her write me a rec letter. I haven't read it but the receptionist I talked to a lot read it and said it was really good. Do you think that will help at all?

I'm just having trouble writing the part about the situation you didn't achieve an outcome you desired...

Just mailed it! Whew. So when are the interviews usually offered?

zfanatic- lol, i had way too MANY things to write in that space... it was like, which outcome seems better to write about?

i even made the lady at the post office postmark it in front of my face...yay, now the wait begins...

When do the interviews letters come out... that is if we are supposed to get one? what about if were not supposed to get one?... I mailied my app in like 2 weeks ago... still no word... anyone hear? cuz i did call in and the lady was like they have assigned a few interviews already...

Thanks

big problem: i sent my application express mail overnight on monday dec.29th. when i checked on tuesday, it said that no they couldnt drop off at the address (I'm assuming because no one signed for it). The package included my app, counselor & teacher recs (both sealed and signed). the english teacher rec is due jan. 1st and they probably won't get it by then because no one picked up the mail.
....................................

i dropped off the app at the post office today at 4:50 pm on 12/31...
but it closed at 1pm for new years eve

is it going to postmark it by jan 1?

i used united states postal service

:(

xingster- you're in deep trouble, the post office isn't open new years day...so it'll be postmarked jan 2.

yeah xingster, sorry man. maybe they will make it an exception given the fact that the post office closed? but usually, these Ba/MD programs are prettyyy strict. a friend of mine who got into the program told me that the interviews go out in around mid-Feb.... i guess we wait until then.
