i tried leaving a voice message at the honors prgm office phone number, but their mailbox is full....
so i tried emailing them to see if they can get back to me but their email bounced back... my final option was to send it to just northwestern and feinberg and hopefully they'll get the message and transfer it over to HPME. Does anyone know of any other contacts i can call or email or fax to tell them my situation?

the best idea might just be to try fedex/UPS/DHL tomorrow. MAYBE just MAYBE they might be open. you could TRY to one day mail it? (this is making the hypothetical assumption of the fact that you have another copy of the application copied)

Ya, sorry xingster23, they might not let your app in. A friend of mine tried submitting his app to a similar program on Dec. 31 to another university of equal caliber to NU, they rejected it. He got to the post office at 5:30p after the final mail pick up for the day on new years eve and so then he went to fedex and they were closed for new years day and eve. He was contemplating hand delivering it! But, alas!
If you have the bright orange sheet that you got with the application that lists the directions, u might want to use those contact numbers/emails. worst comes to worst, email the director of HPME directly. Good luck!

On a brighter note, my name does sound like pyruvate! But no, it's not that or private. It's just a combo of random #s and letters. lol. Thats cool what you guys did with it tho haha.

Did anyone else think that application was really simple to fill out! I mean, most of the stuff I already had typed up for other college apps especially the activities part!

Hey guys I have a few questions regarding the HPME...
- Which are the required SAT II's?
- Do these SAT II's need to be taken before I send in the application?
- Around when (month) will this application be due?
Also, I'm slightly confused on the specific steps of applying for HPME. Can someone please explain it? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

If you're a senior in high school you're way too late. You have to send in an application request card and they will send you an application based on the scores you put on that card. SAT II's are Math and Chem I believe, don't have the sheet in front of me, and the applicatoin had to be postmarked yesterday. So I hope you're applying next year to colleges.

xingster: I'm sure that if you call them, you can explain your situation.

with regards to interviews, an e-mail from the HPME office read:
"Individual overnights will run from January 19th until March 5th next quarter"
I assume that interview requests will be coming soon.

jonthelin, when did you get that email btw?
and what else did that email say?

ZFanatic, thank you so much for replying!

Yes, I'm a junior right now, but I was trying to figure out my SAT/SAT II schedules... :)
Around when are the application request cards due?
I saw some people saying how they want to retake some of the tests, and they put that on the card...?

Thanks again!

I was browsing through the northwestern website, and came across the pdf for the hpme application request card.

It asks for the class rank; do I only put in the one from the second semester of my junior year? What if I had higher ranks before?

Also, it says: "Take the required SAT Subject Tests on or before the December test date. Do not wait to receive your scores; this postcard must be postmarked by December 1." Does this mean that scores are not required for the card? :/

Please reply if you know.
Thank you, thank you!!

If you are a junior now, you should wait a while before you send the card in, around early in senior year or the summer before.

Scores aren't required for the request card if you haven't taken the tests yet, but you can indicate when you'll be taking them.

I heard that some kid got an interview for Northwestern already... is this possible? i havent gotten anything, i submitted around second week of December... anyone else get an interview? and when and by what method did you get it if you did?

that was prob an interview for regular decisions. i got such a interview card today.

where do you live, when did you apply and what were your stats?... nah he got the same card you got... though i believe the plme was a regular interview

nobody has interviews yet i think. consider this: they received all their materials only 4 days ago. i HIGHLY doubt that they have processed all their materials yet... even gotten around to reading the apps/essays. i spoke to a friend who got in last year and he said interviews go out in late January.

nahh guys someone I know got an interview for hpme - so they're coming..

does this mean you're at a disadvantage if you submitted on the deadline like the majority of people?

oh my. so the interviews actually are out? I'm scared now. Do they send the invitation via email or snail mail?

They send it by snail mail.

jerseywagger.... whose the guy you know? what are his stats? and did he apply this year? cuz the guy i thought got an interview was just lying... i really want to go to northwestern's HPME THOUGH...

i guess tomorrow i'll call northwestern after school to ask if they have sent out any invitations yet, just to confirm for the record. i'll ask if they haven't yet, when they start sending out interview requests.

I got an interview, but I think it's for RD. It's just an alumni thing. I guess I should register for that...
