lol since everyone else is doing it, who wants to swap why northwestern essays mine sucks!!
Decision dates in last 3 years: March 23 2015 Monday; March 17 2016 Thursday, March 17 2017 Friday. Earlier someone posted School Counselor has a scheduled call (coming from the university and not the other way around ) for next Monday. So next Monday? no one knows.
@jflan I wouldn’t rule out the weekend. My daughter got notified about her acceptance to Macalester last Sunday afternoon!
@ARIVERA1 how do you know?
yeah i would be happy to check over someone else’s “Why NU statement as well”
Last year’s decisions came out before Spring Break. Spring Break starts on the 24th.
@jflan If you want me to take a look at yours, feel free to PM me!
@Momcat1 just from what everyone is saying it looks like it will be soon. Unfortunately, no real clues but I wanted to make sure I told everyone good luck.
I was rejected from JH, and NU is my top school… Can’t wait to read my rejection letter from that and my Why Northwestern essay was so good :((
Same @Mouzer
@collegesavant1 I’m fully expecting rejection but I’m still going to be miserable, and if I get in I probably won’t even get any financial assistance or merit so it’s a bust either way
@Mouzer I’m also gonna be pretty miserable, but I’m still hoping I get in because I have a 1550 SAT and a 4.3 GPA. Still, it’s not looking great after being denied by both UCLA and JHU and being waitlisted at WashU.
I’m on pins and needles for my son…but he’s being so cool…he’s already got an acceptance and aid from school #2 - just need to know what’s happening here so he can move on with his life!!!
He has a 35 composite on ACT and a 3.9 unweighted GPA, but waited to write his “why NW” essay 4 hours before the deadline
My son as well.
@collegesavant1 great stats but yeah the prior rejections aren’t confidence-inspiring… I’ve got a 34 ACT and 4.04/4.33 GPA and lots of EC and volunteering leadership positions but still would be a miracle if I got in, good luck to both of us I guess lolll
@collegesavant1 exactly the same case (rejected from JHU, UCLA; waitlist from WUSTL) , same SAT score. International applicant though.
For admitted students, is the user different from what you use to login to your status page?
The interesting thing about past decision release dates was that in 2016 and 2017-- decisions were released on March 17th (on a Thursday and Freiday perspectively). NU is my number 2 (and my number 1 if I choose to debate in college). I am very nervous about the decision, and I’m kinda just ready to know-- either way.
Anyone know how much expressed interest factors into admissions? I flew out to visit and attend info sessions but never got interviews. Not like I’ll get in but thanks
