@ljschlaif I think it’ll probably come out Monday earliest
whenever the decisions are released, does anyone know how they will show up on the portal? is there a link that comes up on the top of the page or do you have to scroll down some? asking to save my sanity as i keep refreshing my portal
@plsletmein22 Guessing it’s like the rest of them. Log into your portal there will be a “view update” click that for your decision.
i’m guessing there’s no decision today
Nope
@AverageTeen2000 @collegeappboy22 I can go over your Why Northwestern essay. Pm me!
when did the decision come out in the past years?
@emily523 they’ve come out on or around the 17th for the past 2 years
Guess they are closed today. We can expect decisions by tomorrow.
On sunday…?
I think the earliest would be Monday. If not, probably next Thursday or Friday.
I guess next friday is a good bet as somebody mentioned before that is the day they close for spring break.
it’s probably gonna be next monday or friday
I received a letter from college board requesting W2’s and tax forms… You all think there’s a good chance of getting in?
The financial aid process has nothing to do with the admissions process if a school is need-blind. So your request from College Board does not have any specific correlation to your NW admission decision. W-2’s and tax forms are pretty much required by all colleges if you file the FAFSA and CSS. If you do get admitted those forms will be needed to calculate your financial aid package. Sorry!
@PackersLA If you get an email from NU financial aid about missing documents, then that may be a positive sign. It may mean that you have been accepted and that they need more docs to complete your financial aid package. I got emails from Pomona and Williams about missing financial aid docs last week, and I wound up getting in to these schools this week. So, it MAY (or may not) be a sign, but if the message is from College Board, then it means almost nothing in regard to NU admissions. Need blind means that the fact that you require financial aid or an inability to afford college won’t negatively affect the decision. In fact, NU has one of the largest QuestBirdge chapters in the nation and has a specific goal of having 20% Pell Grant students, so the admissions office considers does socioeconomic status in making decisions (it’s like another measure of diversity)-- they just never hold being less wealthy against someone.
one of my financial aid documents is missing and NU didnt email me. It definitely means im rejected
@Marzzz financial aid and admissions are truly separate things! The problem is that they link everything to the same portal and some schools even send reminders from the admissions email address. But whenever I’ve needed to clarify a financial aid question, admissions forwards me to the financial aid office and says they don’t really deal with each other. So…it does NOT mean you’re definitely rejected.
Does the aid checklist show up on the same portal as the admission portal? I can’t find any info regarding my financial documents.
@Happytoapply But i’m convinced it does. If i was accepted, wouldnt they need to confirm my financial aid package and therefore ask for missing documents?
Wellesley College emailed me a few times, and then i was accepted. JHU didnt even once and rejected me. Unfortunately all the other places i applied didnt email me either
