Northwestern Thread for Transfer Students

hey is there anyway for us weinbergers to check which distribution req's we still need to satisfy?

johnM, looks like we will be taking similar paths after all - I got accepted ar Weinberg today - not U of C but I couldn't be more thrilled. We will have to hook up for a cold one to celebrate.

Hi everyone,

I got accepted last week to WCAS as a rising junior transfer. I sent in my final transcript earlier this week so they could transfer my credits. I am visiting the campus next Wednesday and Thursday and am hoping they have them finished by then so I can see how far behind/ahead I am before I enroll. Do you know how long it takes for them to see which classes to transfer? It seems like most of you already know how many credits you're getting.

Thanks!

not too long i dont think. when i sent them my spring grades it took them a few days. as a fellow wcas rising junior transfer, i congratulate you.

did anyone not get in?

thats the better question lol

i'll be visiting next thursday and friday...it will be my first time on campus..
is anyone else putting the Cultural and Community Studies Res collge (CCS) on their housing list?

i'm going to be @ northwestern for the next two weeks (i'm a counselor for NHSI), so if ANY of u are on campus...let me know! would love to meet up and start this brand new section of my social life hahaha

I didn't, but no surprise there. What are you doing, bball87?

I predict bball87 will stay at Cornell. We should start placing bets...

neverborn, u get into northwestern?

ru going?

I am looking to apply to Northwestern as a sophmore in Fall 2007. I am at the University of Michigan Dearborn right now. My high school GPA was about 3.6....11/12th grade was all IB courses. ACT was 32...twice, 11/12 on the essay.

I have IB credit, but aside from that, I am taking 6 credit hours in summer, 12 in fall (still 4 classes), and hopefully 16 in spring. (i recieved credit for calc 1 and 2, along wit bio, physics, and european history)

Currently I am taking Pysch as a social science, and poli sci 101. IN fall i will be enrolled in Antrho 101, socilogy 200, english 125/comp II, and one last class i havent figured out yet....maybe political theory or philosphy 100....

In spring, I wil take stats 363, medievil history, creative writing, and microecon

probably going to take g-chem in the spring.....

If my gpa is between a 3.9-4.0 what do you guys think my shot at getting in is? I apprently write good essays and I am sure i can get an above average recommendation from a professor...im good wit the whole student/teacher relationship thing =)

Also, i am gonna apply to UChicago...i was waitlisted there as a freshmen applicant......

thanks!

they updated the housing site! they give a list of dorms w/ available transfer spaces
i think i'm going to pick lindgren as my first choice....most of the dorms available are single rooms only

Bball, my inbox is no longer full.

I sent my deposit in to Chicago before I even heard from Northwestern. I was rejected from Northwestern about 2 weeks after I confirmed at Chicago, though.

I just read a student written article about housing. It's a few years old, but pretty interesting nontheless, for those of you making your choices.

wow. insightful. nice link.

northwestern 09! Go wildcats, etc!

yeah JohnM, thanks for the link. Some of the Res Colleges like Shepard and Chapin sound great, but I'm still interested in the transfer house. Are most of you putting that as one of your top choices?

hey, all! I'm going to be a sophomore transfer at NU this fall! I'm putting the transfer house as my first choice. Have most of you received your credit evaluations already?

Hey rubbs, I'm going to be a sophomore transfer also, and I think my list will be something like transfer, chapin, shepard, willard, allison. I got my credit evaluation, but it's also available online if you can access caesar, under the "for applicants" section to the left, in case you need it.

are chapin, shepard, willard, and allison avaliable for transfer students? Those choices were not listed on the housing website...??

I'm still waiting on my credit transfers. Did they do a good job matching your classes up? Where are you transfering from?
