Well, it’s not possible to “figure it out.” There are no “shoo-ins” regardless of how great your credentials are. However, I would think applying to NU in the past would, at the least, demonstrate emphatic interest in the school.

Can we send in our supplements tomorrow or are they due today before midnight?

i.e., is the complete application due at 4/30/10 at 11:59:59 pm or 5/1/10 11:59:59 pm?

cdugantz10, was the response from NU intended for all transfer candidates? Really, 2 - 3 weeks?

anyone else get an email saying their application is completed and currently under review

Yup – this morning.

Are application reviewed by their respective departments? Or is their a general admissions committee?

did others get this complete and under review email or is it just me and the other guy?

i got it a while ago, but that’s only because my app was completed way back in March.

did it just say ur app is completed or did it say its under review. and do u know if they wait for 2nd semester grades before they do their thing

This is what it said:

We are pleased to inform you your transfer application to the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University is now complete and under review.

I have no idea about what they do with our second semester grades…

ya thats the exact same one I got. Im still confused about these rolling admissions too because I emailed the undergraduate admission office and they said

"Thank you for your interest in Northwestern University.

We do not review application in the order they were submitted. We begin
reviewing applications after the May 1 deadline, and decisions are released
on a rolling basis. This simply means that you do not have to wait for the
entire applicant pool to be evaluated in order to receive a decision; we
will let students know as soon as a decision has been made on their file."

yet this isnt what a lot of the other people I spoke to are saying.

Do we need to submit our spring grades?

I did not receive an email today…when did you guys submit your applications? Do you think that they wait until the final grades are in before claiming that the application is “complete”? Also, thanks for clearing up the rolling admission. I was confused by that terminology in reference to a transfer application with a deadline if that makes any sense…

i sent my application in on the 29th so 4 days ago

did you send your spring grades?

I’ll be sending my spring semester grades right after they become available, which would probably be in two weeks. But i really hope NU releases their decision before June at latest…

my finals aren’t until next week…so my grades can’t be sent until a week after that. i hope that they send out decisions before the end of july so that we don’t have to wait all summer!

@F4LCON, I’m not sure what they’re doing this year, but I have transfer friends at NU that didn’t hear until August. They really do do the admissions on a rolling basis. I have friends that found out in June, and friends that had already booked a flight back to their other school before they heard. So yeah, don’t be too disappointed if you don’t hear by June.

S submitted app. on 5/1 (the deadline) and received the e-mail that everything was in and ready for review on 5/3 – pretty quick. He won’t have his 2nd semester grades for a couple of weeks so they probably wait to get those before rendering a decision. August though?? That’s pretty late!

Hey could someone please clarify this for me:

I recently finished my application to Northwestern a few days ago and I was looking today in the My Colleges section of the Common Application page, and was wondering what is the significance of the date in parentheses; on the left side of the “Downloaded” status? I assume that is the date that NU downloads my application, supplement and payment info, correct?

The reason I ask is because I finished my application on 4/30 and my supplement and payment of 5/1 (the deadline) and now in parenthesis, next to the the “Downloaded” status it shows “(Date: 05/02/2010)” and I want to make sure they know that I turned in everything before the deadline.

Thanks!
