Northwestern Thread for Transfer Students

Just called the office, they wouldn’t release the decision on the phone…but the admission officer said the decision has been sent to my permanent address with FedEx…so…acceptance? Or rejection?

Hmm they specified fedex? Probably an acceptance? :)

should we call and ask if they sent decisions yet? or did you ask them because of a specific reason?

Never mind, that was intended for the Brown thread…=P

Accepted!!! snail mail dated 5/11/2010
I will be denying admission so any people who get waitlisted will have a better chance

Good Luck to everyone else.

My stats are in many other threads

CONGRATS, Poleandreel!!! Very impressive background and wish you the best of luck at Cornell in the Fall – you must be thrilled!

yes thank you so much. hope everyone gets to go where they want to!!!

May I ask what date you had all your materials to Northwestern?

@poleandreel, congrats!!! Did you get email notification beforehand? Or a snail mail just arrived without any other notification? Thanks!

All my materials were submitted by feb 22nd i believe. and i didnt receive any email. except for the one that said it was being forwarded for review

Wow – you had everything submitted very early – glad you are one of the first ones to find out you got in!!

poleandreel, congrats!! Could you please post your stats? Did NU also have your spring grades?

still waiting a decision…

do they send out rejections first and the acceptance?

…i’ve heard nothing…will they send us the decisions through emails first?

mouse9020, I think you should contact the fedex if NU really did send out your decision, since fedex once misdelievered my admission package for my freshman app. GOOD LUCK!!

And is it fedex for everybody or for acceptance only?

@dingdingmh: my fedex was for Brown and i don’t want to go there…so. still waiting on NU. no decisions yet.

I hope that someone will be able to answer my question:
I really would like to know if I have a chance at transferring to NU. Specifically to their film school. I was unable to apply because of my poor grades in high school, however I am doing much better at the school I currently attend. High school for me was a bit hard as a result of a medical condition, however I am doing much better in college.
HS GPA: 2.7
SAT: 520 Reading
480 Math
540 Reading
550 Writing

This is my first semester in college I currently have a
4.0 GPA but I could end up with a 3.89
My classes are not extremely hard. I am taking
Comp I- A
Finite Math -A-
Environment- A
Intro to Anthropology- A-
Art-A
Nature and Culture-A

Also I am participating on the school’s Newspaper, Debate team , Environment club, French club and some community service.

Hi,

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Chicago and am applying as a transfer to NU for fall 2011.

I would appreciate if someone could let me know how my stats fare for NU transfer applicants.

Highschool GPA unweighted: 3.8 Weighted: 4.01
ACT: 27

UIC stats:
Major: Political Science, and hopeful Economics double major
GPA : 4.0 (completed 50 credit hours, which includes AP credit)
Extra-cirriculars: Pre Law Society President, Features Editor of The Chicago Flame, Student Law Clerk, conducted research in two fields of Political Science: Foreign Policy and Corruption in Chicago.

I have some wicked essays, too. I’m worried that my stay at a public university might influence the admissions counsel negatively.

^There is a separate thread for Fall 2011 NU transfers
