Haven’t posted in here, just been keeping up with everyone. I applied to transfer back in January. @jinzo000 I graduated high school in 2010 and have a cumulative 3.75 in college with lots of work experience. I’m curious to see how it turns out for us!
I am incredibly nervous for the possible decision of Northwestern. Yesterday I just got rejected by NYU.
@jinzo000 I am willing to bet that Northwestern is definitely not going to throw your file out in the garbage just because of a low GPA. Private universities are very holistic in their admissions decisions.
lets hope some of us get decisions back today! did anyone else apply to sesp?
@jinzo000 @lovescience18 I’m really glad you both posted, it’s a comfort to know other nontraditional students are applying. I was afraid I’d be the only one!
Does any know if northwestern has specific admission people assigned to us the way some schools like Vanderbilt do?
@Swerve8 nope. Not the case of NU.
@LesMeules no problem. I was nervous to being 25 & having 2 jobs plus going to school and on top of that being a mom! (Hopefully that gives me some sort of advantage). I’m just excited to put aside the time & money to finish school full time!

@lovescience18 I definitely think it will give you an advantage! Through everything you, you demonstrate maturity, dedication and follow-through, which you need to thrive at a university like Northwestern. I’ll keep you in my thoughts as the decisions continue to roll out. I really like how Northwestern is welcoming to all ages by not limiting us to only attend the school of professional studies. Do you have any backups? Mine is DePaul, they’re also transfer and nontraditional friendly. I have to stay in the Chicago area and the other schools aren’t the right fit for me personally nor academically because of my major.

Thanks guys! @LesMeules my backup is Loyola. I’ve already been accepted with almost a full scholarship. I’m majoring in forensic science or at northwestern it would be chemistry. Hope we see decisions today. I wish the best for everyone!

Probably anywhere between 5-7 EST
Time to do nothing in anticipation for my decision until then…
hoping they release a big batch of decisions since last weeks seemed to be extremely small…
Only two were admitted till now on this thread.
