Northwestern University Deferred Next-Steps Question

I was deferred from Northwestern University and will submit my mid-year grades. I will have a 4.0 unweighted, 4.6 weighted with 4 AP’s at the end of this semester. My overall is a 3.9 unweighted, 4.3 weighted. This semester, I was also involved with numerous clubs and competitions that I hold some leadership positions and am active in the community. What are my odds of being accepted when looked at again in the regular decision pool? Are there any steps I should take between now and regular decision time on how to interact with NU to show that I’m still dedicated to them come regular decision time or just anything that will help tell them I am a strong candidate in the time between?

I am going to offer potential actionable steps, but you should only follow the advice given by the school regarding what you can and cannot submit. It would be helpful to know the rest of your profile. If ACT/SAT is weak, you could retake it. If recs are weak, you could try to get another. Have you visited NU’s campus or interviewed? Do they allow you to submit additional materials? I would imagine a visit, interview, and either a short letter or video with updates and explanation of why you’d be a good fit are what you can do at this point if these things are allowed and considered.

That’s like almost the same thing I wrote :))
