Have you been accepted to both? Are they both affordable? How do you feel about NU being on the quarter system? Location preference?

For strength of program, I’d chose NU.

In general terms, NU is a better school - but if CWRU is cheaper, that matters!!!

Or if CWRU is a better fit.

Fair point and finances are a part of fit - but so is so much more.

My daughter is headed to the 16th highest ranked (doesn’t mean best) school of 17 she was admitted to - but it’s the right fit for her. She had a huge spark on both visits that she had nowhere else. College of Charleston…and the staff has been tremendous to her.

College selection done right, IMO. Good luck and best wishes to her.

Thx. Not part of the decision but after she submitted late Apri was three scholarships totaling an additional $13k appeared. So advice to everyone apply for the inside the school awards too. They can pay off.

Paying $75k over 4 years OOS worst case is better than W&L at $81k each year. She did like American more initially but understood the value at about $60k a year after merit wasn’t worth it without batting an eye.

We got lucky. Most who choose a lower cust school likely do so for the $$. In our case, other than American, and she fell off their train a bit after reading about dorm rats and raw chicken in the dining hall…well it just worked out well.

Let’s hope her experience there does too.
