not applying for aid

hi, does not applying for financial aid increase your admission chances at nyu?

no it doesn’t. plus if you happen to be eligible for merit $, they want you to have a FAFSA on file.

I’d like to believe it does make a difference, in a small way, but I don’t think I’ll ever know if it really does.

but don’t you guys think that… if there is two people with identical scores and ECs and etc. that it would make more sense for the school to choose the one who doesn’t need FA assuming that they have to make a choice between the two?

^ NYU admits both.

^ I meant if there was only one spot… I mean logically they would pick the one who doesn’t require FA right?

^ I think you’re trying to invent a situation that just doesn’t happen. There will never be two identical applicants, so there’s no need for a policy.

true  10char

NYU says they’re need blind, so, even if there’s a small chance you might qualify, I’d fill out the FAFSA.

^ Exactly. We didn’t think we would qualify, but we did.
