Not assigned requested major

I’ve read a couple things about how it is hard to get your requested major if you don’t get it assigned to you at your acceptance/for freshman year. However the website makes this seem like it only applies to some majors. I requested the Psychology major and was assigned Pre-Sciences, does this issue apply to me and will it be difficult for me to get into the Psychology program or am I paranoid over nothing?

“Pre-science” is the correct designation for an admitted student who indicated psychology as the intended major, since there is no freshman direct admission pathway to that major.

Admission to the psychology major is competitive (not like computer science, for example, but you will need to work hard and do well in your prerequisites). The following pages have information about the requirements for admission to the major (B.S. or B.A.):

Congratulations, and good luck!
