My high school only requires 2 years of a language to graduate so I stopped after spanish 2 because I wasn’t that great at it. My top school says they recommend 3 years of FL but only require 2. Will it look bad that I didn’t take 3 years? Instead of FL I took extra history classes so when I graduate I’ll have 5 1/2 years of history, does that help at all??
“Bad” is a relative term. Will only having two years cause your application to be automatically tossed in the reject pile? No. Will you be less competitive? Yes.
No. While it’s great that you took some extra history, there few, if any, offsets in the admissions process.
