So CMU class of '14, anyone excited about moving out of state to go to college? Do you think you'll sorely miss your family/friends at home?

One of the reasons I chose CMU is because its 9 hours away from my parents.

CMU is literally on the other side of the world from where I am.

lol, i know what you guys mean. i kind of want the independence that comes with being hours away from home. i’m in tx, so pa is quite the stretch.

Washington. Coast to coast…

On the downside it takes me about 12 hours to leave my room in Morewood and get to my front door in AZ

I’m from Pennsylvania but had a longer car ride than one of my friends from Canada!

@AvgAsian
Hey i’m coming from Washington too!
But yeah definitely want to be somewhere really far away.

ha I’m from Ohio but I’m only 3 hours away

@ladyvee
I’m from TX too. Ah far away.

it only takes 12hours for me to fly there, not that far huh?

I’m coming from North New Jersey. 1 hours by flight, 6 hours by car. Not that bad.

I’m from California. So it’ll be quite the experience. But hopefully a good one! :D

Well, it’ll probably take me 18 hours just to fly there… 9 + 9 (India-Germany-USA)… not to mention time spent in transit But I’m certainly looking forward to it.

im from ohio…2 hours away

I’m from eastern PA, so about 5 hours from CMU.

in Chocolatetown Hershey lol. it’s about 4 hrs i think? Really want to be far away, but my dad said he could do internal transfer within his company to a branch in pittsburgh. I was like, are you serious dad…

Hershey is about 3 hours from Pittsburgh.
